Titled ‘The Ultimate Illusion’, MSGM FW23 fired us down the rabbit hole at top speed. Here, in a world somewhat familiar yet totally flipped, colour, texture and shape were distorted anew. Grab your tinsel shoes – and we’re off. In this MSGM’d landscape, patterns swirl and twist like ink in water, soft clouds of bouclé wool float effortlessly, and huge faux fur coats cuddle you like grizzly beasts – one vibrant red look even spread to an amazing fluffy mullet hat that was a little bit Ziggy Stardust. The Chemical Brothers on full blast only added to the sensory trip.

This is a place of psychedelic flora and animalier, of slinky dresses and garments made from thousands of shattered mirrorball pieces. Images of digital lands adorn tees like far-out memories; perhaps you visited once in a fantasy? Or maybe that journey is written in your future? Minimalist cuts popped in acid tones, and transparent knitwear offered refined sensuality. If this is indeed a dream, don’t even think about waking us up.
