Miu Miu FW23: uniforms for afterwork drinks

Miuccia Prada shook up the fashion world recently by reintroducing the extra-mini mini skirt and this season, it seems she’s decided that the pencil skirt is having a renaissance. From thick corduroy iterations in soft camel to delicate polka dot styles in sheer fabric, double layered at the waist to look like tights hoisted up high. Models stepped out onto Prada’s runway like no-nonsense secretaries with places to be.

Button-up cardigans were in abundance, styled with round-neck tees and circular tortoiseshell glasses. Knitted overcoats were teamed with matching jumpers for textural ensembles with a 60s feel, while chiffon halter-neck dresses with 3D floral appliqué were decidedly opulent. Elsewhere, athleisure staples joined the assortment. Grey marl hoodies and complementary leggings were paired with sweeping coats and slick leather satchel bags. For the menswear offering, a mustard jacket with fur-lined lapels was worn together with slacks in a matching shade; a textured leather zip-up hoodie in dark khaki looked the height of luxury when paired with a toffee coat in the same material. English actress Emma Corrin closed the show in a simple turtleneck and pair of sparkling gold hotpants  – a fitting ending to a collection that got down to business but was undoubtedly geared towards after-work drinks.
