Issey Miyake Men FW15
By Daniel Challis | 27 January 2015

Yusuke Takahashi took his FW15 collection for Issey Miyake to the Fondation Cartier in a colourful foray of tailoring, detail and accessories – styled with the youthful sense of fun the designer is re-injecting into the brand.

Cobalt and navy suits kickstarted the line-up, artfully checked and pinstriped, ensembles brought forward with shocks of hot indigo and violet accessories – a silk scarf, gloves and socks and a boxy bag. Trousers ballooned in signature style before calming down (slightly) via tapered hems or to spill over printed trainers.

Takahashi’s creed is reinstating that idea of ‘anything goes’, from hawk eyed urbanites to young business boys: from the more reserved pieces through to pussy bow-tie geometric print blouses; neo-tartan belted blanket coats; velvet outerwear, bags and trousers imprinted richly with what came across as the shape of a rose.
