New man

The Isabel Marant man is evolving

The grunge-loving Kurt Cobain-obsessed man Isabel Marant presented last season is all grown up. For SS24 the French house opts for elevated silhouettes, prioritising tailoring alongside sportswear and workwear codes to shape a hybrid allure. Exploring contrasting dynamics, oversized proportions are met by classically cut trench coats and finely crocheted vests stand alongside plush knitwear or cosy fleeces.

A monochromatic black-and-white colour palette is broken up by splashes of yellow, fuchsia, purple and cobalt blue while vibrant graphic brushstrokes quietly clash against geometric patterns and yellow-hued leopard print. Hoodies are layered under duster coats, voluminous outerwear is worn with summer shorts and panelled track pants are paired with blazers and sleek leather boots in a welcome nod to contradiction. As the landscape continues to shift, SS24 proves Marant is evolving with it, unpicking core codes and redefining them as she goes.
