Hans Feurer’s sexy, sporty, hyperreal tropical photographs filtered from Marant’s moodboard to the French designer’s SS22 collection as models stepped out in looks designed for zig-zagging between spontaneous dips in the ocean and the beachside bar dancefloor. Merging beachwear with ready-to-wear, technical sportswear fabrics became dramatic couture-like sculptural garments, paired with bikinis and bras for the girls and loose swim shorts for the lads – featuring a new 90s surf-inspired logo. Iridescent materials shimmered like sun-induced hallucinations, as tracksuits were chopped and cropped into essential separates and jeans were adorned with metallic constellation embroidery. A Balearic rhythm surged throughout via sunset hues – that gradually cascaded from bright oranges to dusk purples – and floral nuances. “Enjoy what you do” – trust Isabel Marant to put a smile back on our faces and remind us of good times ahead.
