Slow it down
This season, Giorgio Armani unpacked the idea of harmony through contrast. City and coast, East and West, tailored and undone: everything existed in an easy equilibrium. Silhouettes shifted toward the fluid – worn languid and louche – as double-breasted jackets were reimagined with shawl collars and abbreviated cuts, fastening low across the torso and paired with teardrop-pleated trousers that either tapered at the ankle or fell wide with generous turn-ups. On foot, suede loafers, pastel chukka boots, and sandals encouraged a lifestyle that’s more ristretto than rush hour.
There was an ease to everything. Leather coats moved like shirts, and knitwear enveloped without anchoring. Print and pattern came through in illustrated waves: chevron motifs, woven patterns, and sun-faded graphics animated the surfaces, grounded by a colour palette that shifted from desert neutrals to Mediterranean hues. Eveningwear dropped into inky black, softening the edge while maintaining the rhythm. It was about movement, ease, and balance – and in a world that rarely slowed down, that felt quietly radical.
