Armani boudoir

Giorgio Armani FW23 was all about movement and intimacy

The Giorgio Armani FW23 offering was an intensely magical and emotional affair. Contained within the intimate walls of the basement at Via Borgonuovo 21; it remains a familiar spot for many of Armani’s guests, having hosted previous shows in this very same theatre. It was amongst this scene of familiar domesticity that guests were immersed – as if planted directly into the Armani boudoir.

The show started as the shadowy outlines of three models, preoccupied in conversation, appeared almost oblivious to the crowd that awaited them. And just like that, it was ‘lights up’ and they sprang into action, reminding us that life is a continual runway for the beguiling Giorgio Armani woman. A dazzling assortment of embroidery and adornment added movement and seduction. There was a focus on fringing across various accessories, including handbags and beaded berets, while occupying a succinct palette were satin pyjama-style suits, form-fitting elongated outerwear, and elegantly draped shawls that signalled the enduring grace and savoir-faire of the designer.
