Dsquared2’s SS23 man is a reggae-loving surf bum

Canadian duo Dean and Dan Canten drenched their latest Dsquared2 collection in some Jamaican sunshine. Melting in the heat, lines merged and colours sizzled. Centred around the easygoing nature of surfer dudes and the melodic energy of reggae beats, multi-coloured prints of swirling designs in sun-like shapes met oversized silhouettes, baggy shorts printed with hibiscus flowers and slouchily tailored tartan blazers. Tie-dye shirts went psychedelic, especially when paired with flared 70s-inspired patchwork denim appliquéd with marijuana leaves. Meanwhile tough biker silhouettes were reworked in multicoloured leather and studded acid-wash denim, if an adrenaline rush is more you.

Collaboration dug into the 70s theme as various leather pieces were adorned with the iconic Honda logo alongside graphic tees printed with images from the Bob Marley Foundation – striped knits crafted in a trio of shades from the Jamaican flag were further homages to the musician. Within a blissed-out world, the Dsquared2 man is the chillest of them all.
