Andreas Kronthaler raided Vivienne’s wardrobe for SS24
By Barry Pierce | Fashion | 1 October 2023

For SS24, Andreas Kronthaler raided Vivienne’s wardrobe, literally. In a collection titled 43 Old Town, the address just by Clapham Common where Andreas and Vivienne lived, the looks were all straight from Vivienne’s personal archive. “I organised and numbered Vivienne’s personal wardrobe,” Andreas writes in the show notes. “Clothes we did together. Revisited. Reworked. The collection coming out in the order I picked them, numbered from a hat.”

As a result, this collection is, at once, an amazing tribute to Westwood and also the story of Andreas and Vivienne’s relationship over 34 years. The first look, the Inferno jacket from FW04/05, was a personal favourite of Vivienne’s. The earliest look is Look 9, the Cora vest and Cora shorts from Cut, Slash & Pull SS91. The whole collection was a revelation – genius. It is hard to think of a better way to pay tribute to Westwood.
