Now in its fourth edition, the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers, has seen a record-breaking 1,200-plus applications from all over the world. To facilitate this huge drive, the prize committee has enlisted a 40-strong panel of experts and jurors. The shortlisted contestants will have the opportunity to present their work to global editors, business leaders and designers. In addition, LVMH has called on Kendall Jenner and her fellow model friends Karlie Kloss and Natalia Vodianova to cast their vote on the finalists.

Twenty one designers have been shortlisted by the selection committee of the Prize, from Daniel w. Fletcher‘s politically charged designs to London’s favourite party animal Charles Jeffery.

LVMH Prize founder Delphine Arnault states: “The increasing numbers of candidates for the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers prove once more the enthusiasm generated by the Prize, which is strongly committed to its international dimension. This year, two distinct characteristics stand out among the propositions of the candidates: first, streetwear in various forms influences many collections; and second, the gender diversity of the designs is emblematic of this edition. Boldness is the keyword of the creations of these 21 young designers. LVMH felt a duty to create this Prize that rewards young designers but above all nurtures tomorrow’s talent.”

In the coming months, LVMH’s group of designers and select executives will determine who takes home the 300,000-euro prize. The winner (or winners) will be announced on 16th June at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris.
