Yarn masters Woolrich John Rich & Bros and The Woolmark Company have collaborated on a travelling photo exhibition, which celebrates the history of wool.

Shot by photographer Jackie Nickerson, the exhibition dips into the brand’s archive, offering an insightful look at traditional manufacturing techniques – from the oldest vertical woollen mills in the United States to antique machinery and looms. Premiering in Milan, the exhibition has stopped off in London and will move to flagship stores in Berlin, Amsterdam, New York and Tokyo throughout November.

Additionally, Woolrich and Woolmark have created a special edition of the arctic parka made from high-performance merino wool. For Woolrich, merino has been their go-to material since they opened their doors in 1830. Produced from a breed of prized sheep it’s regarded as seriously top notch wool, one of the finest and softest out there.

Whilst the exhibition recognises the historical value of traditional craftsmanship, the parka demonstrates a contemporary realisation of wool manufacturing innovations.

The Arctic Parker by Woolrich x Woolmark is now available in selected Woolrich stores and at the Woolrich website
