The nominations have already been announced for this year’s Fashion Awards, now comes the news that renowned photographer (and HERO contributor) Bruce Weber is set to be honoured with the prestigious Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator.

“His expansive body of work in photography and film is iconic, and he himself is rightly an icon of the creative fashion community,” said Natalie Massenet, chairman of the British Fashion Council. “He is one of the foremost photographers and creative talents of our age who has helped shape the fashion industry we know today and I have a great deal of admiration for him.”

With a career spanning almost five decades, Weber’s prolific oeuvre has become synonymous with notions of American youth and male sexuality. From iconic fashion campaigns for the likes of Versace and Calvin Klein to documentary work such as Chop Suey, Let’s Get Lost and Broken Noses, the Pennsylvania-born photographer has crafted a distinct aesthetic that defines modern Americana.

Previous winners of the Isabella Blow Award include Nick Knight, Edward Enninful, Amanda Harlech and Louise Wilson. The awards ceremony will take place on 5th December at the Royal Albert Hall.
