The time for warning about Stranger Things spoilers is over, if you haven’t already binge watched the whole series one, where have you been?

With her oversized glasses and goody two-shoes attitude, Barb (played by actress Shannon Purser), quickly became an overnight sensation after many thought she was unfairly forgotten by the writers and other characters after appearing to be killed off. Cue a #JusticeForBarb Twitter frenzy.

Yesterday, Netflix has released a mock “archival newsreel from 5 WIYZ Hawkins, Indiana” about Barb’s disappearance, in which presenter Brenda Wood describes the character as “loyal to a fault…the kind of girl who notices if you’re wearing a new bra” and who “can really rock a pair of mom jeans or as we call them now, jeans.” A hint that she is set to return to the show?

The faux news piece also references Eleven stealing her beloved Eggo waffles, taken from a scene in the series.
