Following from the success of his SS17 collection, Nasir Mazhar is now teaming up with Topman to release an exclusive range for the menswear high-street store come September. Nasir’s trademark futuristic urban aesthetic has been making a buzz with fashion critics for years, so it’s no shock that Topman nabbed him before anyone else could.

Whilst Mazhar’s collections usually tend to showcase darker or more earthy colours, expect plenty of popping bright colours infused into this sportswear-inspired line. Baby blue and powder pink play a strong role in the garments, and the collection can ultimately be summed up in five key looks. You can also definitely expect to find the now-iconic Nasir Mazhar logo (often see plastered across the likes of Rihanna) across the clothes, along with embroidered detail.

Mazhar has always been a champion of deconstructing hierarchy and snobbery in fashion, which he said has been a main reason for doing this collection with Topman. “[I believe] everyone should be able to have my pieces in their wardrobe” he says, “the [collection] has something for playing sport, something for the rave, something for the pool, [it’s] a diverse and exciting wardrobe.”

Considering past collaborations between designers and high street stores have always flown off the rails, we’re expecting this latest venture between Mazhar and Topman to follow suit. Expect queues down Oxford Street and triple-priced items on e-bay soon after this collection is released. Let’s just say Beyoncé’s Topshop equivalent, Ivy Park, better watch out…

The collection is available online at Topman.com on 6th September and selected stores from the 8th. Prices range from £25 – £80.
