Having previously worked with Twin Peaks’ David Lynch for their FW14 set and Gregg Araki on a special FW15 short film, Kenzo‘s Carol Lim and Humberto Leon have tapped Carrie Brownstein – creator of Portlandia and member of Sleater Kinney – to write and direct a new campaign film, a 30 second teaser of which has been released.

Titled The Realest Real, the hyperreal comedic film boasts the ultimate indie cast including actors Mahershala Ali, Natasha Lyonne, Rowan Blanchard, Laura Harrier and Sonic Youth visionary Kim Gordon.

Co-directors of the fashion house, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim have described the film as a “humorous exploration of the fickle and instant world of the internet” [that] “take[s] a look at the invisible digital walls that separate us from our favourite personalities and icons, and the curious conceit of a dream come true.”

The Realest Real will be shown in full at New York Fashion Week on 12th September.
