It’s been a whirlwind few years for Wales Bonner. Having only graduated from CSM in 2014, the London-based designer has quickly become one of the most acclaimed and exciting designers on schedule. In the two years since, she has had her work exhibited in the Serpentine Gallery and at the V&A, taken home the Emerging Menswear Designer award at last year’s British Fashion Awards and, this season, showed her debut solo show to critical acclaim.
Within her work, Wales Bonner explores notions of black male representation through gender-fluid design and historical references. With this well-deserved financial injection and year-long mentorship, the 25-year-old designer has been rewarded the resources to propel her brand to the next level. And we can’t wait to see what’s next.
