A playful and sexual exploration of the human body, Sarah Piantadosi’s new zine The City is Abstract toys with the representation of erotic exploration. Stemming from Kathy Aker’s infamous poem, “Is there a split between mind and body, or rather between these two types of mentality? …Is our city abstract?!”, her new project treads on a ground similar to her last project, Milk Jaggerand makes for a thrilling read.

There’s an unfiltered freeness about the images; they were shot spontaneously during a meeting last year; capture sexual independence, and explore unconstrained sexuality through a series of breathtaking photographs. Featuring two subcultural mega-figures – Emil Bognar-Nasdor, the notoriously publicity shy frontman of NYC hardcore band Dawn of Humans and London based writer, editor and dominatrix Reba Maybury – Piantadosi’s stellar project articulates freedom and self-expression.

Opening tonight, Piantadosi’s highly-anticipated exhibit celebrates the birth of her newest zine, and will hone in on the London-based photographer’s nod at sexual experimentation. With only 250 limited-edition copies printed, don’t miss your chance to grab one! Bondage wear optional.
