The British Fashion Council’s NEWGEN MEN scheme sees financial and business aid given to London’s most promising menswear designers, allowing them to develop their brands into new realms. Today sees the announcement of the next round of recipients, for SS17, in line with London Collections: Men in June .

Bobby Abley, Craig Green and Liam Hodges will be returning this season with a catwalk show, while Cottweiler will be joining their ranks in June, moving on up from their NEWGEN presentation in January. Alex Mullins, Wales Bonner will be exhibiting through a salon show, while Kiko Kostadinov, Phoebe English (cover star of HEROINE 4), PIETER, and Diego Vanassibara will be showing through presentations and an installation, respectively.

The announcement follows the departure of Astrid Andersen, Agi & Sam and Nasir Mazhar, who have “graduated” NEWGEN MEN –  joining an alum of successful designers including Christopher Shannon, J.W. Anderson, James Long, Sibling and Christopher Raeburn.

“It is fantastic to be welcoming new designers to the NEWGEN MEN fold for June, Grace Wales Bonner, Kiko Kostadinov and Phoebe English – I’m sure all eyes will be on these bright new stars as they unveil their inaugural  NEWGEN MEN collections,” Jason Griffiths, Marketing Director of TOPMAN, commented.

“In the same breath, I very much look forward to seeing the evolution of Alex Mullins, Bobby Abley, Cottweiler, Craig Green, Diego Vanassibara, Liam Hodges and PIETER who are continuing to develop and grow under the NEWGEN MEN initiative. We also look forward to watching this year’s alumni Agi & Sam, Astrid Andersen and Nasir Mazhar continue their journey as established brands; heralding all that is creative and exciting about emerging talent in London.”
