Yesterday, Swedish unisex brand Eytys opened a brand new space in central Stockholm. Inspired by minimalist sculpture and brutalist architecture, the store employs an aesthetic that parallels their sleek output.
The store’s design inspiration came directly from Japanese post-modernist Shiro Kuramata and Spanish-Catalan sculptor Xavier Corbero. In particular, Corbero’s own residence outside Barcelona – a four decade long project, recently finalised as an epic, sprawling labyrinth of concrete vaults and organic sculptures – proved a strong influence.
“Xavier Corbero’s home had us hypnotized. It’s a delicate version of brutalist architecture where the attention to detail is extreme. That rare expression was something we wanted to accomplish with the new space,” explains creative director Max Schiller and architect Axel Wannberg.
Offering the brand’s complete sneaker and accessory line (including the new Doja shoe), the store also offers a curated, rotating selection of reading, ready-to-wear and interiors, forming an holistic concept.
Eytys’ new flagship store is located at Norrlandsgatan 22 in Stockholm.
