Since 2002, creative director Tomas Maier has been inviting world-renowned photographers to inject their aesthetic and soul into Bottega Veneta’s image by shooting its seasonal campaigns. The project is called Art of Collaboration, and thanks to Bottega Veneta and publishing house Rizzoli it’s now got its own book.

Ranging from 2002 to now, Art of Collaboration is exploding with sharp, strong imagery – all are strikingly individual: Annie Leibovitz, Peter Lindbergh, Steven Meisel, Nick Knight, Juergen Teller and Robert Longo are some few of the many photographic legends that have contributed to the tome. David Sims, Ryan McGinley and Japanese legend Nobuyoshi Araki are some of the most recent collaborators.

Maier’s appointment as creative director to the brand in 2001 has revolutionised its international standing and respect in the industry. Think modern tropes edged with more elegant and sometimes classical details – see them interpreted below.
