Pitti Imagine Uomo has announced Korean designer, Juun.J, as their Menswear Guest Designer at the biannual trade show in January – quite notably, he’ll be the first Korean Guest Designer at Pitti.

Known for his edgy ‘street tailoring’ – incorporating angles of traditional construction-techniques; use of volume; military influences; and his in-depth research that feeds it all – his ideas continue to bolster his reputation above competitors, mitigating the challenging facets of menswear’s currently cut-throat state.

At Pitti 88, we saw Moschino take the position as Guest. The season before that, it was Hood by Air – now Juun will be carrying the torch. Befitting, as the Korean designer’s ideas congruently match those that hold dissent against banal, menswear conventionality: big but gentle, progress pushes forward.

Pitti Uomo 89 will run from 12th to 15th January in Florence. Stay tuned for HERO fashion week coverage, from London to Florence, Milan, Paris and New York.
