The big reveal
Fendi has just announced that Rome’s Trevi Fountain will reopen next week following an extensive restoration project financed by the luxury house.
The Trevi’s make over has been completed earlier than the predicted end-2015 date, the fountain’s water set to start flowing again in the big reveal on the 3rd November – just seventeen months since the restoration works begun.
The mammoth effort is part of Fendi’s ongoing commitment to restoring the Eternal City’s most prized monuments to their full former glory. The Fendi For Fountains project has so far seen the restoration of the complex of the Four Fountains, a quartet of Late Renaissance fountains at the intersection of Via delle Quattro Fontane and Via del Quirinale in Rome, which were completed earlier this year.
It’s been a big week for Fendi, with this announcement coming just after the opening of its incredible new Rome headquarters in Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana (Palace of Italian Civilisation), otherwise known as the Square Colosseum.
This is no doubt a proud moment for Fendi, a brand that continues to stay creatively true to its Roman heritage, and that gives back to it in the process.
