With Bouncing Soles

“I’ve always been drawn to pieces that become more personal the longer you live in them” – Chloë Sevigny helps launch Dr Martens’ new campaign

Dr. Martens has launched a major new campaign-slash-initiative titled With Bouncing Soles. Celebrating the brand’s most enduring designs and the communities that have worn them to death, the name has been a fixture on Dr. Martens footwear for 65 years (if you know you know), with “Bouncing Soles” appearing on the heel loop of every 1460 boot since 1960.

“I’ve always been drawn to pieces that become more personal the longer you live in them, and Dr. Martens has always represented that for me,” says Chloë Sevigny, who stars in the With Bouncing Shoes campaign. “I love that the campaign starts with such a simple question: What Makes Your Sole Bounce? For me, it’s staying curious – taking on new roles, finding inspiration in unexpected places, and always being open to what’s next.” Within the imagery, Sevigny is joined by the likes of Jordan Stephens, Naomi Watanabe and LedByHer.

The campaign spotlights five of Dr. Martens’ most recognisable silhouettes – the 1460 boot, 1461 shoe, Adrian loafer, 2976 Chelsea boot and 8065 Mary Jane – reimagined in Crazy Horse leather, including a new Cherry Red finish for FW26. The 1460, 1461 and 8065 Mary Jane are also now available in special Green editions.

Underscoring the brand’s commitment to community and culture, With Bouncing Soles arrives with a series of boots-on-the-floor events at Dr. Martens’ Brewer Street flagship, with Lala Books, Adult Entertainment, So Young, Steeze Factory and Paddy Young bringing books, poetry, zines and comedy to the store. Then the programme heads north to Manchester, where community hub Altogether Otherwise presents Suddenly Real, a free poster shop for local makers, while Dance Policy takes over SOUP for The Manchester Bounce – a day-to-night celebration of the city’s soundsystem history.
