Willy Chavarria has turned UGGs into biker boots

With a little help from Willy Chavarria, UGG has gone hardcore. Teaming up with the US designer, the brand has transformed its classic silhouettes into new forms inspired by biker culture, pairing its signature softness with a much tougher edge.

Debuted at Chavaria’s SS27 show in Paris and crafted around the tension between rebellion and tenderness, the collaboration spans five footwear styles: the UGG® Willy Chavarria Guard Boot, Biker Boot, Relaxed Boot, Otzo Clog, and the Hotel Chavarria Slipper, alongside the ‘Hug It’ tee and sock. Across the offering, familiar UGG codes are recast through a louder, darker attitude, with moulded toe caps, pull-on handles and protective shin guards, cast in black leather and finished with custom Willy Chavarria chrome hardware.

“We’ve designed this collection to be fierce and friendly. The archival influence of leather culture wrapped in the warmth and intimacy that only UGG can provide. UGG and I remind you that you are untouchable and you are loved. This is my love letter to the outlaw in you,” said Chavarria.

The release is accompanied by a campaign titled UGG and KISSES, starring cult actor Danny Trejo, actor, producer, and director Eva Longoria, musician Becky G, and singer-songwriter Ivan Cornejo as a fictional family, played out across visuals inspired by tropes of classic 90s sitcoms.
