A special one

Cameron Winter has announced his Live at Carnegie Hall album

Last December, Geese frontman Cameron Winter delivered one of the most memorable gigs of recent years. Packing out New York’s illustrious Carnegie Hall, he walked on stage with nothing but a piano, performing songs from his acclaimed debut solo record, Heavy Metal, with his back to the audience. It was raw, theatrical, and incredibly moving – one of those rare moments that stays with everyone lucky enough to have been there.

Now, Winter announces Live at Carnegie Hall, a live record capturing the performance. Set to be released on 9th October, the record features the full set, including three unreleased tracks: It All Fell in the River, Emperor XIII in Shades, and If You Turn Back Now.

One question remains, however. As footage from the show began streaming across social media, images also emerged of Paul Thomas Anderson and Benny Safdie filming the performance from different angles. Nothing has been confirmed about what was being captured – or what it might eventually become – but could we be looking at the making of one of the greatest live music films of all time? Watch this space…
