Harmony Tividad is an LA cliché – in the absolute best possible way. She’s a musician who has ripped up stages as part of punk duo Girlpool, she’s modelled for Heaven by Marc Jacobs, and has been a frequent figure in Hedi Slimane’s legendary Diary. Needless to say, she’s cool as fuck. Having gone solo with her record Gossip in 2024, now Tividad returns with Lifetime – her sophomore album and a “Hollywood heartbreak for the new age.” An ethereal, softly-cinematic love letter to Los Angeles, the record traces the city she grew up in, and the relationships she’s formed – and lost – across its boulevards, canyons, and coastlines. With that in mind, what better way to mark its release than with a tour of the LA spots Harmony holds closest? Lonely Planet, this is not.

Chimneysweep

“Essential valley hang but no one wants to drive this far but they have pool and popcorn, which is rare today. Got shut down for a while for… unknown reasons. I historically am making fuckshit decisions when I am here.”

Clark St Diner

“I also grew up coming here back when it was 101 coffee shop — this place is just a genuine landmark for me through every phase of my life. so much has happened here! I also love the little bar attached… it has had many names but it is currently called Lily’s bar and it’s a good place to hide from everyone at La Poubelle – unless its a night where the inverse is happening and everyone is here and no one is at La Poubelle. They also know what an Amaro spritz is at Lily’s bar which is very important to me.”

Smokehouse

“I love everything about this place but I especially love the martinis.”

Formosa

“The best vibe ever. Red booths and Chinese food <3”

Playclothes

“My favourite place for freakish vintage accessories and to find last-minute outfits for any occasion.”

Pure Heart Collective

“My mom’s psychic salon! Has amazing soundbaths and Reiki and of course my mother gives her notorious readings out of here. The store has so much beautifully curated stuff in it she’s picked out and I find it so cosy, plus it’s next to the legendary Casa Vega. La swag.”

TOI

“I grew up coming here with my parents. As life turns out, I became friends with one of my oldest friends Lucia – when I was fourteen – whose grandparents own it and they so kindly let me film my music video for my song Apple Pie in here. Such an iconic Hollywood institution carrying the true OG Los Angeles torch. And they are open late!”

FOLM

“My friends Anna and Cindy’s pilates studio — it is my favorite place to exercise and actually the only place I want to exercise. The vibe is so perfect and all of their classes and instructors are literally amazing. And everyone who goes here is lovely.”

La poubelle

“Everyone I know is always here including me. I love the lychee martini and the fries.”

Jet rag (especially dollar day Sundays)

“I grew up coming to dollar day here with my mom. I used to roll in the piles of clothes as a child and they would tell me to stop. It has been a favourite of mine since then.”

Counterpoint Books

“I think I’ve been here with most boyfriends I’ve had. I would come here as a teenager and act up – they used to be open ’til like 11pm or midnight in like 2011, which was iconic. I had braces and would just be here so late with my friends and our iPhone 8s or whatever.”

Harmony Tividad’s Lifetime is out now.
