Folders
Maison Margiela has announced an exciting new project: MaisonMargiela/folders. One of the house’s most ambitious initiatives to date, it will see the brand open its archives and stage a series of exhibitions and experiences across China. Drawing from deep archival exploration, the house has focused on four foundational codes that define Maison Margiela: Artisanal, Anonymity, Tabi, and Bianchetto.
Each code will anchor a dedicated exhibition in April: Artisanal in Shanghai, Anonymity in Beijing, Tabi in Chengdu, and Bianchetto in Shenzhen. The project will run alongside the Maison Margiela FW26 show, set to take place on April 1 in Shanghai as a special guest of Shanghai Fashion Week.
The extensive planning and development behind the exhibitions, including vast amounts of archival imagery, has been made publicly accessible via Dropbox. These are the very folders used by the Maison’s internal teams, and as the exhibitions evolve, they will continue to expand with new research and materials, becoming an invaluable resource for fans of the storied house.
