It’s official: Pieter Mulier is Versace’s new chief creative officer. The former Alaïa designer is filling the position left vacant by Dario Vitale after his single season at the Italian house. In a statement, Versace said: “Prada Group and Versace announce the appointment of Pieter Mulier as Chief Creative Officer, effective July 1, 2026. This choice marks the beginning of a new chapter for the brand.”

Mulier has worked for a number of high-profile houses throughout the years, starting as an intern for Raf Simons in the early 2000s before working his way up to head of menswear. He remained with Simons for several years, following him to Jil Sander, Dior, and Calvin Klein. In 2021, he became the creative director of Alaïa, becoming the house’s first lead designer since the death of Azzedine Alaïa.
