Balmain has a new creative director. The French designer Antonin Tron, who founded the brand Atlein, is set to replace Olivier Rousteing after 14 years at the helm of the French house. Tron studied at the legendary Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and has spent the majority of his career working on the design teams for Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Balenciaga and Saint Laurent. In 2016, he founded Atlein and won the First Collections Prize at the 2016 ANDAM Fashion Awards. In his new role, Tron will focus his time exclusively on Balmain.

In a statement, Tron said: “I am deeply honoured to be joining Balmain, and grateful to Mr. Rachid and Matteo for entrusting me with this extraordinary House. I wish to express my gratitude to Olivier Rousteing for building Balmain into the global brand it is today.”

Antonin Tron will present his first collection for Balmain during the Paris FW26 season in March.
