Here’s Johnny!
London’s baseball-inspired label Bar Arm Baseball returns with a capsule collection that draws inspiration from Stanley Kubrick’s 1980 horror classic, The Shining – a meeting of film and field, dugouts and dread. “The idea hit a few weeks ago while I was rewatching The Shining,” says founder Alan Taylor. “There’s the iconic scene where Shelley Duvall’s character realises her husband has completely lost it, and she uses a baseball bat to defend herself. That image stuck.”
Channelling Kubrick’s iconic cinematic world through the brand’s signature sports-skate silhouettes, the collection includes a baseball jersey decorated with a David Hockney-inspired collage of Jack’s tumble down the stairs, while a printed tee reworks the infamous Redrum door scene – the blood-red scrawl swapped for ‘Bad Arm’, which is also embroidered across a cap. Titled All Work and No Play Gives Jack a Bad Arm, the collection is available now in a limited-edition (home) run – see it wonderfully modelled by Jack and Wendy Torrance below.
