Barbour and Baracuta look towards legendary Northern Soul dancefloors
Fashion | 9 November 2025

Revealing their third collaborative collection, Barbour and Baracuta are hitting a rhythm in more ways than one. This season, the two British heritage brands look towards Northern Soul for inspiration – the underground movement born in late-60s Northern England, where working-class kids in basement clubs danced all night to rare American soul records. More than a sound, it was a culture built on freedom, community, and self-expression – a spirit that moves through the collection.

Referencing the outfits from the era, the collection features relaxed tailoring, t-shirts with Northern Soul-inspired graphics, crew neck sweatshirts, chinos and a wax cap and tote bag featuring badge embellishments. While waterproof jackets nod to each brand’s icons, because you never know what the weather will throw at you once the dancefloor is over.

Set inside Jumbi in Peckham, the accompanying campaign is shot by Normski, the legendary photographer who has long chronicled the UK’s street and sound systems across decades. He not only shoots the collection, but steps in front of the camera, joined by Goya London-based artist Gumban.
