Big News
Grace Wales Bonner has just been announced as the Creative Director of Men’s Ready-to-Wear for Hermès. The news comes less than a week after the resignation of Véronique Nichanian, the legendary designer who had been in the role since 1988.
For several seasons, Wales Bonner’s name has been mentioned as a possible creative director for numerous houses. Ever since founding her namesake brand in 2014 — the year she graduated from Central Saint Martins — Wales Bonner has become one of the biggest names in British fashion, becoming known for her stylish mix of sportswear and tailoring. She has received numerous awards, including the CFDA Award for International Men’s Designer of the Year in 2021 and British Menswear Designer of the Year at the Fashion Awards in 2024.
In a statement, Wales Bonner said, “I am deeply honoured to be entrusted with the role of Creative Director of Hermès Men’s Ready-to-Wear. It is a dream realised to embark on this new chapter, following in a lineage of inspired craftspeople and designers.”
Wales Bonner will present her first collection for Hermès in January 2027.
