Tits and cowboys
The Vivienne Foundation has launched its first project since the passing of Dame Vivienne Westwood, a limited-edition collection of 500 luxury charity T-shirts designed by the late fashion icon herself. Each piece supports one of four grassroots organisations that reflect the Foundation’s pillars of activism: halting climate change, stopping war, defending human rights, and protesting capitalism.
Made from 100 percent organic Peruvian cotton and printed in England, the shirts feature some of Westwood’s most recognisable artwork, including The Tits, Cowboys, Baby Satyr, and Teddy Bear. The accompanying campaign, shot remotely by Nick Knight, features Kate Moss, Fontaines D.C., model Colin Jones, and Westwood’s granddaughter, Cora Corré.
“The collection was intended to be the first of many – but it turned out
to be her last,” the Foundation said in a statement. “It’s extremely rich in both new and iconic graphics and designs. The culmination of a lifetime’s work.”
