Marking Stone Island’s FW26 collection, the brand releases a new editorial by photographer Isaac Lamb and in-house archivist Archie Maher, who set off to Medellín in Columbia to capture the city’s high-octane biker subculture. The city, which is set against the dramatic backdrop of the Andes Mountains, is home to a collective of thrill-seeking stunt riders known as Los Pikes. Founded over twenty years ago by Paskin, a legend in the scene whose influence on the city has been immense, a whole cohort of superstars have risen through the ranks of Los Pikes, such as Dani Castañeda, a leading female rider; the technical virtuoso Reptile; Leon, a seasoned rider and cultural fixture in Colombian media; and Gonogold, Medellín’s punk skater. All feature in the Stone Island series.

For the shoot, Lamb and Maher immersed themselves in Medellín’s street culture for weeks, capturing the lives of the bikers both on the streets and in their homes. Throughout the editorial, Los Pikes wear pieces from Stone Island’s AW25-26 collection, as well as items from Maher’s archive. Pieces were chosen to reflect the kinetic energy of the streets of Medellín. Eagled-eyed Stone Island acolytes will recognise the Green Reflective Shell Jacket from AW91-92, the Red Marina Reflective Jacket from SS92 and a hoard of accessories, including the iconic goggles from AW86-87.

“We’re going through life fast because of a motorcycle,” says rider Gonogold. “We grow up with the culture of motos. We all have motorcycles. We all go fast. Everyone wants to get somewhere fast.”
