Sonic boom
Alessandro Michele has transformed Valentino’s Madison Avenue boutique into an intimate listening room, inspired by mid-century salons, with a bespoke sound system and architectural interiors.
Designed in collaboration with Italian cultural collective Terraforma, the store’s mezzanine floor will become L’Atelier Sonore, decorated with modular seating, draped curtains and, most importantly, a custom sound system inspired by traditional cabinet-making.

Built for deep listening and quiet contemplation, a programme of soundscapes curated by Terraforma and crafted by sound designer Giorgio Di Salvo will fill the space. Marking the opening, on 15th May Valentino will present a ten-hour live curation showcasing the vibrancy and diversity of the New York music scene, featuring listening sessions joined by artists such as Laraaji, Lea Bertucci, Laurel Halo, Lizzi Bougatsos, Chuquimamani-Condori, and Kevin Beasley – each sharing records from their personal archive.
