Big announcement
We’re still buzzing from Pitti Uomo’s outstanding 107th edition, where MM6 Maison Margiela staged a show in a stunning conservatory and Setchu made its debut runway presentation. Now, fresh off the presses, the 108th edition is set to welcome a prestigious guest of honour: Homme Plissé Issey Miyake.
Founded in 2013, Homme Plissé Issey Miyake is Issey Miyake’s pleated menswear line, dedicated to advancements in technological materials but through everyday garments. A mainstay of men’s fashion week in Paris, their journey to Pitti begins a year of adventures for Homme Plissé.
In a simultaneous announcement, we have learned that the line will continue to produce two collections a year, but those collections will not be defined by seasons. Neither will these presentations take place in familiar locations, instead the line is taking the opportunity to visit locations and events where they’ve never shown before.
Whilst the location of their forthcoming Pitti Uomo show in Florence has yet to be revealed, guest designers have always took full advantage of the Renaissance architecture and the vast Tuscan countryside that surrounds the city. In a statement, Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine, said: “The presence of Homme Plissé Issey Miyake at the upcoming Pitti Uomo in June fills us with pride and excitement. We have long hoped to associate the name of the great Japanese brand with our event, and today we are finally able to share a long-awaited announcement.”
The design team behind Homme Plissé said: “We feel grateful for this opportunity to be featured at one of the most celebrated menswear events around the world. On this occasion, we will present our Spring Summer 2026 collection to a local and international audience in Florence, created based on our research and field studies carried out during our travels across Italy.”
