Straight off the back of the John Varvatos Spring campaign starring Kiss is the announcement of Ringo Starr as the face of FW14.

Unveiled in line with Starr’s 74th birthday, the initiative includes a short film and social media component in support of The Ringo Starr Peace & Love Fund. For the rest of the year, Varvatos will donate $1 to the fund for every photo shared across Instagram, Twitter, Vine, and Facebook that features a person flashing the peace sign with the hashtag #PEACEROCKS. There’ll also be a point of sale component: pop-up ‘Peace Shops’ will sell a limited edition tee with all profits going towards the charity.

“Ringo’s music and heart are unique, not only in the rock ‘n’ roll world but the world in general. Knowing and working with him has been one of the most motivating and stimulating experiences in my life,” Varvatos said in the release.

The new campaign was shot in LA and follows 20 seasons conceived by Yard and shot by Danny Clinch. Starr joins a past line-up that includes (deep breath required) the likes of Iggy Pop, Willie Nelson, Jimmy Page and Gary Clark Jr., Paul Weller and Miles Kane, Joe Perry, Dave Matthews, Perry Farrell, Alice Cooper, Iggy Pop, Ryan Adams and Slash.
