Lanvin return to the Paris Fashion Week schedule
By Barry Pierce | Fashion | 27 November 2024

Lanvin is well and truly back. After the announcement that the former head of couture for Balenciaga, Peter Copping, is to take the reins as artistic director, we now have news that Lanvin will be returning to the Paris Fashion Week schedule with a FW25 men’s and women’s runway presentation in January.

This will be the first time in almost two years that Lanvin will present a runway show, their last being the final show of Bruno Sialelli who exited the house in early 2023. Ever since, Lanvin has focused on salon-style seasonal presentations and lookbooks.

All eyes will be on Lanvin in January as Copping has had industry-wide approval as a good choice to take over — his experience as a couturier being a perfect match for Lanvin, being France’s oldest continually operating couture house. A graduate of Central Saint Martins, Copping spent over a decade at Louis Vuitton under Marc Jacobs and has previously been creative director of both Nina Ricci and Oscar de la Renta, the latter designating Copping personally as successor. At Balenciaga, Copping reintroduced couture collections and, subsequently, worked as Head of VIP and Special Projects. He was named artistic director of Lanvin in September 2024.
