Haider Ackermann has unveiled his debut capsule collection as Canada Goose’s first ever creative director. Released under the brand’s heritage label, Snow Goose, the new collection sees Ackermann delving into Canada Goose’s near-70-year archive, reviving classic pieces and silhouettes while reflecting on his own personal connection with nature and outerwear. Key pieces from the capsule include the Rider Parka, a mid-90s style parka featuring utilitarian pockets and a cinchable waist; the Celestia Jacket, which takes the form of a classic shirt jacket adorned with reflective tape; and the Avalon Hat, a development of the early-2000s Classique Hat with interior insulation and exaggerated ear flaps for extra warmth.

This being Ackermann’s first collection for Canada Goose, naturally they had to go all out with the campaign. Featuring Ethan Hawke and shot by Willy Vanderperre, the imagery sees the collection paired with still images of incredible, natural landscapes.

“Being surrounded by nature allows one to be connected with oneself – it reflects, it inspires, it provokes. It is in this rhythm and energy that we designed this capsule,” said Ackermann of his debut collection.

“I find that it is important to get out of the city and go for a walk in the woods,” added Ethan Hawke. “After finishing a project, I crave a reset. Anything you can do that gets you out of things that are manmade, that is when life gets very simple and very easy. I was lucky that I found nature, something that I loved, when I was a kid and because of that I’ve stayed a student of the environment my whole life. It has given me a sense of purpose, something that felt like a natural connection to Canada Goose’s values and this collection.”

The first delivery of the FW24 Snow Goose by Canada Goose capsule is now available on canadagoose.com and globally in select Canada Goose stores. Additional drops will happen throughout the month of December 2024.
