MM6 Maison Margiela is the guest designer for Pitti Uomo 107
By Barry Pierce | Fashion | 3 October 2024

The next edition of Pitti Uomo is shaping up to be very exciting. A couple of weeks ago, Satoshi Kuwata of SETCHU was announced as the first guest designer of Pitti Uomo 107 and now MM6 Maison Margiela is joining the roster.

Founded in 1997 as Maison Martin Margiela’s diffusion line, MM6 Maison Margiela offered a more affordable alternative to Martin Margiela’s avant-garde and haute couture designs. However, in recent years, MM6 has transformed into a formidable brand on its own terms, showing independently on the Milan schedule since 2013, whilst their parent brand, Maison Margiela, shows in Paris.

For the past few collections, Heikki Salonen has acted as Creative Director of the brand, but MM6 prefer to keep the focus on the clothes, much like Martin Margiela himself. In a statement, MM6 said, “We are honoured and excited to be invited as Pitti Uomo’s guest designer this coming January, as part of the world’s most important menswear fashion fair. We intend to bring the style and spirit of MM6, creating a menswear project specifically for Florence.”

Pitti Uomo 107 is set to take place in Florence on January 14th to 17th, 2025
