David Zwirner’s LA gallery marks 30 Years
By Barry Pierce | Art | 23 May 2024

For thirty years, the art collector and gallerist David Zwirner has been a major name on the art scene with galleries in New York, London, Paris and Hong Kong. Now, to celebrate his new flagship gallery opening in Los Angeles, Zwirner is bringing together works from his huge roster of artists from the past thirty years.

“To mark the gallery’s 30th anniversary and to inaugurate the completion of our new Los Angeles buildings, we are excited to present a very special exhibition that celebrates the artists who have shaped the gallery’s program since its founding,” Zwirner said in a statement. “Many of our artists will be in LA for this happy occasion, as we toast to 30 years of exhibitions, books, spaces, and projects, and look forward to all that is to come.”

The list of artists whose work will be on display at the 30th anniversary show is exhaustive, but to give a flavour — Diane Arbus, Huma Bhabha, R. Crumb, Dan Flavin, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Barbara Kruger, Yayoi Kusama, Kerry James Marshall, Gordon Matta-Clark, Joan Mitchell, Chris Ofili, Elizabeth Peyton, Gerhard Richter, Richard Serra, Wolfgang Tillmans, and Jordan Wolfson.

Opening on May 23rd, David Zwirner: 30 Years will be one of the most unmissable exhibitions of the year, as well as an opportunity to see Zwirner’s new LA flagship space.
