Talent mix
Stone Island has new additions to its ongoing SS24 Dissolving Grid Camo campaign: Wayne McGregor and Santan Dave.
Founder of Studio Wayne McGregor and Resident Choreographer of the Royal Ballet, McGregor is the mind behind works such as Chroma (2006), Infra (2008), Woolf Works (2015) and The Dante Project (2021), which we chatted to McGregor about when it was revived at the Royal Opera House last November. While Santan Dave is one of UK rap’s most exciting and acclaimed talents, picking up multiple Brit awards as well as winning the 2019 Mercury Prize for his record Psychodrama. Together, the duo expand Stone Island’s diverse talent mix.
The Dissolving Grid Camo collection features all-new optical illusion pieces that become reflective when the light hits the garment, creating a three-dimensional look. In the accompanying campaign video, we see McGregor and Dave wearing pieces from the collection, along with text from Stone Island’s now-famed questionnaire. It turns out Dave can’t live without rice and Wayne McGregor recently made a clay pot.
