It’s going to be the fashion sale of the century! Christie’s has just announced that the estate of the late, great Vivienne Westwood will auction this June. Spanning four decades, more than 200 lots will be auctioned off, each of them representing a significant moment in Vivienne’s life and career, with the earliest look dating from FW 1983/84.
Ahead of the sale, a free public exhibition showcasing the designer’s wardrobe in all its glory will take place at Christie’s headquarters on King Street from 14th – 24th June. Westwood’s husband and creative partner Andreas Kronthaler has handpicked each piece due to go under the hammer, offering up some of the most recogisable pieces from the fashion icon’s extensive wardrobe. The fashion, jewellery and accessories will be offered to benefit The Vivienne Foundation, Amnesty International and Médecins Sans Frontières, and Greenpeace.
Vivienne Westwood: The Personal Collection will take place at Christie’s from 14th – 24th June and the live sale will take place in London on 25th June with an online auction taking place alongside.
