One for music and cinema lovers, a new biopic honouring the iconic music of Prince is on the way produced by Black Panther director Ryan Coogler. Said to have been in the works since 2018, there is little information about the project other than the intention to make it a jukebox biopic, incorporating Prince’s hits into an original storyline, and it’s rumoured to be set for release by next Spring

It’s not the only Prince film in the works, with Crazy Legs Features currently working on an adapted, scripted biopic based on The Most Beautiful: My Life with Prince, the memoir by author, actress and dancer Mayte Garcia, Prince’s first wife.

As for who is going to play The Purple One in Coogler’s project, no names have been cited so far, but it’s going to need someone with one hell of a voice and charisma to boot.
