Dries Van Noten has announced that he will be stepping down from his namesake brand after 37 years at the helm. He rose to worldwide fame in the 1990s as a member of the Antwerp Six, a group of designers from Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts that also includes Walter Van Beirendonck and Ann Demeulemeester.
In a letter sent to the press, Van Noten wrote, “I want to shift my focus to all the things I never had the time for. I’m sad, but at the same time happy, to let you know that I will step down at the end of June. I have been preparing for this moment for a while, and I feel it’s time to leave room for a new generation of talents to bring their vision to the brand.”
“The next Men’s Spring Summer 2025 collection will be the last in my current role at DVN. The Women’s Spring Summer 2025 collection will be made by my studio team with whom I have been working very closely during all these years. I have full confidence that they will do a great job.”
While the designer will remain active with in-house operations, Van Noten’s successor is yet to be named.
