Birthday bash

Christmas has come early in New York with Dover Street Market hosting a plethora of in-store drops to celebrate their tenth anniversary. If you head down to their Lexington Street location this Saturday you will find yourself treated to not just complimentary food and drinks (as well as a special café menu by Rose Bakery and House of Waris), but to the latest capsules from the likes of Comme, Supreme and Sacai.
Comme des Garçons will be launching their collaboration with sustainable Swiss brand Freitag, who are famed for their bags made of recycled trucking tarps. A special installation at DSMNY will celebrate the “Holidays with FREITAG” collaboration, which is guaranteed to be one of the year’s most sought-after capsules.

Sky High Farm Workwear and Nike KAWS will also launch a new collection of apparel and footwear, including a chore coat, hooded jacket, hoodie, t-shirt, pants, and beanie with artist KAWS’ interpretation of SHFWW’s Cloud and Strawberry & Moon logos. Supreme will drop a limited-edition, first come, first served, DSMNY 10th anniversary t-shirt featuring a print of bejewelled teeth grills and the store’s address, and Sacai’s holiday collection will be launched as well as the much-hyped Bone Soda x Salomon XT-6 Expanse LTR.
A number of re-editions of collections from ten years ago when the store first opened will also be available, such as Simone Rocha SS14, Rick Owens SS14, and Undercover SS14. This is an amazing opportunity to get your hands on some rare pieces.
Aside from clothing, a number of cultural launches will be happening. Glen Luchford will release his photobook Roseland, which features the outtakes from Glen’s famous editorial with Kate Moss for Harper’s Bazaar in 1994.

An exhibition of the millinery of the great Stephen Jones will launch in the Jewellery Space, delving deep into Jones’ archive to display some of his most iconic creations. A collection of rare watches curated by DIMEPIECE as well as the jewellery designers Leo Costelloe and Bernard James Jewellery, two new brands to the store, will debut their collections on Saturday. And as if that wasn’t enough jewellery for you, Suzanne Kalan, Mindi Mond, and Shay will also launch couture pieces.
Rounding off the celebrations, a selection of rare and vintage Hermès pieces curated by What Goes Around Comes Around will be on display and, if you are so inclined, a selection of Birkins will be available to purchase too.
We think all that is left to say is — happy birthday DSMNY!
