BIANCA SAUNDERS FW23
The stars were out in South Kensington last night for the BFC Fashion Awards. Strolling along the red carpet were Pamela Anderson in Stella McCartney, Anne Hathaway in Valentino, Alexa Chung in 16Arlington, Charli XCX in Jean Paul Gaultier, and Lisa Rinna in Chet Lo. The awards, which were presented by Maya Jama and Kojey Radical, are now in their thirty-ninth year and honoured the designers, models, and radicals of the last twelve months in fashion.
Major winners on the night included Conner Ives for the BFC Foundation Award, Martine Rose for British Menswear Designer of the Year, and Bianca Saunders for the New Establishment Menswear Award.
A Posthumous Special Recognition Award was awarded to Joe Casely-Hayford for his contribution to British fashion, with the award being accepted by his son Charlie Casely-Hayford. Casely-Hayford was also recently honoured in The Missing Thread: Untold Stories Of Black British Fashion exhibition in Somerset House, which gathered his archive for exhibition for the first ever time.
The night was rounded off with the Outstanding Achievement Award for Valentino Garavani, where the guests were treated to a runway of models in red Valentino dresses before Gwyneth Paltrow appeared on stage to present the award to Valentino Garavani’s creative partner Giancarlo Giammetti.
