60th anniversary
Travis Pastrana and Lyn-Z Pastrana
On their 60th anniversary, Danish footwear brand Ecco enter a new era with designer Natacha Ramsay-Levi at the helm.
Looking to push the brand’s codes forward, Ramsay-Levi’s debut capsule collection, NRL, and accompanying campaign embraces a family ethos in homage to the husband-and-wife team who founded Ecco six decades ago (the same family still own and run the brand). Titled What Makes A Family, the imagery features three families photographed by Sean Thomas: pro-rider and stuntman Travis Pastrana and his wife, the pro-skateboarder Lyn-Z Pastrana with their daughters; Japanese model and actor Kiko Mizuhara, with her sister Ashley Yuka; and English singer and producer PinkPantheress with her childhood best friend Bleona.

Throughout the campaign, we see the cast wearing Ecco’s NRL collection, featuring fifteen styles that imbue Ecco’s heritage and craft with contemporary styling. Playing with proportion and colour, heeled loafers are cast in vibrant hues alongside sporty walking boots and ballerina pumps designed with sporty treads.
“There is a quiet confidence to Ecco which I love,” says Ramsay-Levi. “They know who they are, what they do, and control how they do it. And because they have this trust and awareness and knowledge, they can take risks. There is something very special, super authentic, super true about Ecco, I’m very impressed by the way everything is done – from technical innovations to the culture.” Alongside the collection, Ecco also relaunch sixteen flagship stores, bringing their new vision to local communities.
