In a collab that is going to be so hot it’ll melt ice-caps, Simone Rocha has been announced as the next guest designer for Jean Paul Gaultier. The Irish designer, who presumably hasn’t had a moment to breathe after her SS24 show at London Fashion Week last weekend, will be the house’s sixth guest couturier. Joining the likes of Haider Ackerman, Glenn Martens, Chitose Abe and Olivier Rousteing as guest designers who have helmed a season at the French house after the retirement of Gaultier in 2020.

On Rocha’s Instagram, she revealed news of the forthcoming appointment by posting a bouquet of flowers, sent by Gaultier himself, with the accompanying note written in his own hand — “Congratulations on your show. And see you for your next one…in Paris!!!” Rocha will debit her guest collection during Paris Couture Week in January 2024 – mark your calendars!
