Fisherman’s friend
Dior have dropped their Winter 23/24 campaign and they’re going wet and wild. Well, kind of. Taking inspiration from the Thames and the Seine, the rivers that bisect the two homes of Dior, the campaign explores the duality and the symbiosis of the two cities. Remember the January show, which was soundtracked by Robert Pattinson and Gwendoline Christie reciting T.S. Eliot’s seminal 1922 work The Waste Land?
Photographed by Rafael Pavarotti, the campaign is a monochrome affair, paying tribute to greys and blacks, famously the favourite colours of Christian Dior himself. Here, the themes of the collection – “flux, movement, ease and fluidity” – stand out across hybrid garments that reference fisherman smocks, buoyancy aids and wading outfits – all refined and reworked through Dior’s storied savoir-faire.
